Congrats! We’ve conquered another busy week and Friday is finally here! This weekend, I’m headed to Ohio to visit relatives, and I’m excited to kick back, unplug, and hopefully see some real Fall foliage. And in true Friday Favoritesfashion, I’m sharing a few finds from this past week before the weekend really starts. It’s always hard to choose only a few of the things that have been inspiring me this week. But I managed to narrow it down to the selections below. Keep scrolling to see what made the cut. You come home after a long day at work and you immediately set down your things, remove the monstrosity that is your bra, and relocate to the comfiest spot in your home — most likely to stream an episode (or six) or a mediocre drama or cook competition.
Sure, you might have made a list of all the things you wanted to get done after work. But it’s almost 7 P.M. and your cozy bed is calling your name . . .
The urge to veg out after a busy day is nothing new — especially when the temperature drops. But access to apps like Netflix, Hulu and HBONow have made it easier than ever to spend our weeknights in front of a screen. We might have plans for the weekend that get us out of the house. But weeknights involving anything other than sweatpants and a screen have become very rare — leaving us feeling very lazy and quite unsatisfied.
But don’t worry! When you find yourself bored of binge watching shows night after night, it’s truly a rare and magical opportunity to do something different. And maybe even get a few things done! I am sooo glad the weekend is finally here! The past two weeks have been crazy at work — I felt like I had to be “on” if that makes any sense. And when I got off work, I felt physically and mentally exhausted! So you can see why I’m welcoming the weekend with open arms. Hellooo October! It’s officially a new month which means another round of monthly goals! Let’s get started.
In case this is your first time here, I decided to set myself a new goal at the beginning of each month for 2017 with the intention to uplift my body, mind and soul in some way or another. But instead of setting multiple goals, I only set one main goal with a list of action steps.
I feel like with one main goal, there’s more focus.They’re easier to commit to and each month offers a fresh new start (especially if the previous month didn’t go quite like I planned). The more time I spend focusing on myself and checking in with what I need in my life, the more I realize that monthly goals are great!But just because a new month is starting, doesn’t mean I forget about my goals from the months before.
Inspired by Gretchen Rubin’s The Happiness Project, I set one new goal or intention for myself at the beginning of each month while continuing the goals I set from the previous months.
